Scotland-wide, in your own home
Friendly piano, guitar and drum lessons that start with a jam, not a syllabus β at their own pace, in your own home. And yes, adults too β it's genuinely never too late to start.
What's taught
Every one of these can start as a total beginner β a kid, a teenager, or an adult who's always fancied giving it a go.
From picking out a first tune by ear to reading music properly, whenever that becomes the right next step.
Acoustic or electric β the instrument most people ask for first, and the one John teaches the most.
Real kit time, real rhythm β a genuinely fun one for kids who want to make some noise (in a good way).
Conversational, not another jotter β for a school pupil wanting real confidence, or an adult brushing up before a trip.
More about French tuition βHow a first lesson actually goes
There's no rigid method here, and no exam-board checklist to work through before it's "allowed" to be fun. John sits down, plays with whoever's learning, and teaches through real tunes β building technique in as it's actually needed, not before. Some kids fly through it; others take it slow. Both are exactly right.
It's the same reason people who tried an instrument before and didn't stick with it often do this time β nothing here is about ticking a grade off before it's supposed to be enjoyable.
"grooviest teacher in town!"

About John
John teaches guitar, piano, bass and drums, and separately tutors French β fluent, with a French degree and time spent actually living and working in France. He's personable, patient, and genuinely likes teaching people who've never picked up an instrument before, not just polishing already-confident players.
Lessons happen in your own home, at a time that works for you β no travelling to a studio, no waiting room.
